July 2015 – More than 100 FHLBank Atlanta shareholders pulled up a chair and discovered the power of partnership at the Bank’s 2015 Annual Member Conference (AMC). The four-day event celebrated shareholders’ many successes and demonstrated the Bank’s commitment to helping shareholders achieve profitable growth for their businesses and communities.
The 2015 AMC focused on the top challenges shareholder institutions face today, from interest rate uncertainty to cybersecurity threats to growing regulatory demands. The educational sessions highlighted funding strategies to combat net interest margin pressures, solutions to grow mortgage lending, and best practices for enterprise risk management. Attendees also learned about crisis management planning for cybersecurity attacks and the latest collateral opportunities to increase borrowing power with the Bank.
In addition to Bank-led sessions, attendees heard inspiring presentations from Alison Levine, Team Captain of the First American Women's Everest Expedition, and Commander Kirk Lippold, USN (Ret.), Commander of the USS Cole. These dynamic speakers shared unique, compelling stories of leadership and perseverance and offered listeners guidance that was practical to both their personal and professional lives. Saturday’s session also included an economic panel featuring recognized leaders from the worlds of finance, mortgage banking, and housing policy. Attendees gained insights into opportunities to grow their lending businesses in today’s market.
“The Annual Member Conference is one of the best opportunities each year to see the FHLBank Atlanta cooperative at work,” said Robert Dozier, executive vice president and chief business officer of FHLBank Atlanta. “This year’s speakers delivered tremendous value in terms of ideas that shareholders can put to use immediately. We hope all shareholders will consider attending our conference next year.”
