Federal Home Loan Bank of Atlanta Names Robert Dozier Executive Vice President and Chief Business Officer

ATLANTA, May 23, 2011 - Federal Home Loan Bank of Atlanta (FHLBank Atlanta) today announced that Robert F. Dozier, Jr., will join the Bank as Executive Vice President and Chief Business Officer (CBO) effective June 6, 2011.

Dozier will oversee FHLBank Atlanta’s member sales and outreach, community investment services, corporate communications, and government and industry relations. He brings more than 20 years of residential mortgage market and banking experience. He is well-versed in the business of FHLBank Atlanta, as he served as a director of the Bank from 2002 to 2004.

“Robert brings a unique perspective as a member-shareholder and a former board member, and we are looking forward to benefitting from his experience as a part of our day-to-day team,” said President and CEO W. Wesley McMullan. “He is a thought leader in housing, public policy, the economy, and board governance, and his insight and enthusiasm will help us better serve our members.”

Prior to joining FHLBank Atlanta as CBO, Dozier was president and chief operating officer for Homeowners Mortgage Enterprises (HME), a subsidiary of CoastalStates Bank, where he began as a loan officer in 1992.  Dozier also served on the board of directors for CoastalSouth Bancshares, the holding company of CoastalStates Bank.

Dozier has been elected and appointed to numerous boards and commissions. He recently served on the City of Columbia Mayor’s Transition Team, drawing on his experience serving on boards such as the South Carolina Commission on Higher Education Foundation, the Richland School District II Board of Trustees, and the Midlands Technical College Board of Trustees. In 2004, he was featured by The State, South Carolina’s leading newspaper, in its annual “20 under 40 Most Successful Businessmen” list.

“I believe in the unique mission of the Federal Home Loan Bank system and the critical role it plays in maintaining our nation’s economic stability,” said Dozier. “During the past few years FHLBank Atlanta has been a vital source of funding to CoastalStates Bank and many other financial institutions across the southeast. I look forward to joining FHLBank Atlanta’s leadership team and contributing to the continued strength of this cooperative.”

Dozier earned a bachelor of arts in political science from the University of South Carolina.
